Default Cruise on the outs

My cruise control has a problem! I was driving yesterday and tried to set cruise control for 40 and 50 mph and my cruise control would not set. Then, later that day, cruise control worked fine but after a few minutes just turned off. My car started slowing down, and the green "cruise" icon started flashing. Anyone ever had this problem? What's going on?

ive kinda had this problem

Mines an issue with the brake system, loose ground or low fluid, i dunno... but the brake light comes on for a milisecond and itll bust off my CC... and 1 time going to pick up my buddy at the marine base out here, it was like 107 and i was using the CC to accelerate up the hill, and it just shut off from starvation.

I doubt you're having air issues, so id check the brake lines, fluid, etc... make sure theres no short that would tell ur ECU that u tapped ur brakes.

Thanks for the reply. Nobody else has had any issues with their CC? It will work intermittently. I will be cruising at about 40 for a few minutes, then turn it off when behind a slow person and when I try to re-set the CC speed, it won't work. Please help!

did this problem ever get solved, my cruise control never stays on for longer than like 5 seconds and starts blinking at me. something with the brakes makes sense but that would just set it in cancel mode, it seems blinking should be a solid indication of something, maybe abs brake sensor on the fritz?

even guesses would be appreciated at this point

Try this for an sc300, let me know if its an sc400:
Fig. 4 Total Diagnostic Communication Link (TDCL)

-Turn ignition switch ON.
-Using special service tool No. 09843-18020 or equivalent, connect terminals --Tc and E of TDCL, Fig. 4.
-Read diagnostic code on cruise main indicator light.
-Check for problem in diagnostic code chart, Fig. 5.
-After completing repairs, diagnostic code stored in memory can be cleared by removing DOME fuse for 10 seconds or more.

Yea use the paperclip trick. Same as when you check Check Engine Light codes. Use at your own discretion.

its on the driver side under your fuel and trunk release buttons its the diagnostics port, and then use the paperclip as explained above
