I see. So the SC/Soarer I6 uses a splined slipyoke while the Aristo I6 uses a 3 bolt flange similar to that of the V8. Are the trans tailshafts different also? Since the 3 bolt flange actually slips onto the splined tailshaft (and is held on with a nut).
I'm just looking for alternatives to sourcing an SC300 front shaft when performing the UZ to JZ swap.

Might be in about a week or two. Figuring some last minute stuff.

Good info ZIP, thank you. I wound up buying an sc300 drive shaft from aliga (sp)

Ok, what I have now:
1jzgte with tranny, ecu, motormounts
1jz ignitor
FMIC
sc300 drive shaft
sc300 gauge cluster
walbro 255lph fuel pump
Fuel Cut Defenser

I need:
Radiator Hoses
Battery relocation kit
jumper mod on gauge cluster
AC lines (I'll wait a little while for this)

What do I need to do with cooling? Should I just get an electric fan?
What else can you guys think of?
sc400 (duh)

A dual 12" electric fans will be fine. I would think of getting another SC400 and turbocharging it...More torques and hp at the same psi. LOL.

There seem to be a lot more 1JZs from Chasers than Soarers available from the importers. Has anyone listed the differences between them aside from the oil sump positions? Any differences on ECU pinout and/or connectors?

There is a difference in the ecu and pinouts. The clip is different, but as far as functionality I'm not sure.

nope, work has been killing me lately.
I've also heard it takes more work to the harness to make stuff work well but I haven't been able to verify this.

Hey MattSEG:

Which intercooler did you go with? I am looking at a body kit that would require a nice FMIC. What about your downpipe?

I got stock 1jz IC and DP from Supraforums, but I'm to the point where I might as well just spring for the after market goods so it gets the power I've been dreaming about.

You must be getting excited since you're close to doing it.

I'm excited, but nervous too... I am going to have to do some more checking to the motor to make sure everything is good pre-install.

I'm going to fab up a DP and use stock exhaust for a while, I've heard about fitment issues with various 1j dp's, so that'll be another bridge to cross.

As for the FMIC I bought a blitz (still not 100% sure if it's a real blitz unit) that was on an s14 cut someone had bought. 2.5 inch inlets, decent sized. Due to the application it had previously, it seemed like a good sized unit for now... and it was like 160 bones shipped.

Ok, I'm super confused about something.

To make things work right am I going to have to do any other strange wiring? I knew the sc4 gauges would never work right without tons of electronic manipulation so I got the sc3 cluster. Now aside from a few little things with that, and extending the ecu harness are there any other tricky parts with the wiring? Any bastardizing of the sc4's body harness?

I just completed my 1JZ swap into a SC400. As for the Gauge cluster the temp works by grounding the black and brown wire. Speedometer is off by aprox 25% (about 10mph when cruizing at 70). I will try the tach tommorrow by jumping the resistor. So far so good, you may want to try the 400 cluster before you swap.

my 400 cluster has some dead needles, so I figured between everything, and how cheap I got the cluster from aliga that I may as well. So I take it you ran in to no wiring demons?
