Default Clutch choices.

Im shopping for a clutch kit for my r154. Its going behind a 500hp/??tq. or so, 2jzgte. The car is for the street,... so I want something smooth, streetable, and reliable.

Id like to not spend an arm and a leg, maybe less than $700? What do I need? Would a clutch rated for 520lbs tq. cut it. Or do I need something way more than that? Are Spec clutches worth looking at? ACT?

I've got a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch on my W58 and have been extremely pleased with it. I'm not NA-T yet but I bought it in anticipation of doing so soon.

i would go to supraforums and go into the mk3 section to ask them. they are going to have the most information about clutches for the r154. I know a good deal of them use act setups but there are a ton more options that the mk3 guys will have more experience with than the few people with r154's on here. im in the same boat on looking for clutches for the new setup so defn share what you find out since the search function isnt around anymore on supraforums

act xt pressure plate and act performance street disc. for a street car. torque capacity 522ft/.lbs and clamp load increase over stock is 63%. this will of course have a stiffer pedal feel, but since the disc is a full face there won't be the chatter and noise that come with a puc style disc.

HPF has the ACT kit w. the extreme pp and modified street disk for $707.15. They say it will hold 595ft/lbs.

Or, they have their clutch that uses a SCEC 6 puck disk (supposed to be real streetable), for $701.10.
