Default Fuel gauge BELOW the E?

I was just wondering, if you still have a few gallons left when the Fuel gauge is BELOW the E? I know when the Gas is at the last dash before the E that's about 5 gallons. I always fill my tank up around there and I feel like I have a lot more miles I could go before I fill up. So I'm just wondering if I could run it until the line is below the E or is that too low?

Enjoy buying a new fuel filter soon. Talk about dueling with your luck...... keep sucking that trash off the bottom of the tank and you'll be making a thread soon about why your SC doesn't run anymore.

Fuel also keeps the fuel pump cool. when the pump is not submerged in fuel it can't be keep cool. This will help premature fuel pump failure. Don't let it get past 1/4 tank.

I definitely agree that you should not let the car get below 1/4 tank.

Does your fuel needle show full after having filled up the engine?

If yes, it is likely your in-tank fuel gauge that needs cleaning. If no, your dash gauge needs recalibrating.
