Yea, me too.. but then I found out he wasn't stock. Plus, the 4.27:1 gearing hurt me a bit, since I wasn't in boost and in the powerband very long (gears were too damn short with the auto rear end= too much shifting).
I did, however, upgrade to a auto supra TT differential (LSD and 3.76:1 gearing). Now I'll have a top speed of about 180mph (gearing limited). That'll help me quite a bit on the freeway, since it's got longer gears. I'll be in boost much longer too. I'm gona re-race the zo6.. maybe this time i'll rape him haha

yeah i cant wait to get my lsd installed. stupid laziness, well that and my daily driver is out of commission currently. i bet you could have got the vet had you have brake boosted on highway.

He prabably wouldn't. When I had stock diff my car was dead slow. I got beat by a Nissan 200SX with SR20DET.

Your C/R is higher than you think. If you're interested in knowing your actual compression ratio, here's how to do it. Get some pipe solder that's at least .140" thick and bend it to form a "J". Then, remove a spark plug and insert the curved in into the cylinder with the piston at BDC. Make sure the tip of the solder is along the driver's or passenger's side of the cylinder wall; it won't work front or back. Next roll the piston over through TDC; it should first trap the solder and then compress it. The object is to squeeze it on the piston squish band. Finally, pull the solder out and measure the squish.
Stock squish is 0.060" on the GE motor. Just add the additional volume into the compressed volume and recalculate C/R: CR = (Volume_swept + Volume_compessed)/Volume_compressed
The original compessed volume is determined by: Volume_compressed = Volume_swept/(CR - 1)
Of course the stock CR is 10:1, and I recall the swept volume being something like 499.5 cc for a square 86mm motor. I also haven't considered the valve cut outs in the crown of the piston.

i read in an earlier post that you are going to push the limits of the w58. I'd honestly be careful...i popped my trans with 60k on it with 400ish whp in less than a month. You are already over the limit. I didn't beat on mine at all, just a few highway pulls, and that was the end of it.

I keep downloading the race video everywhere I go. It was funny, as there is a guy in my unit with a Corvette here with me in Iraq; and he was very short sighted as to the power our cars are capable of. I showed him this clip, and he about attacked me when he saw the "FAIL" at the end of the clip. Good work, once again.
