I am doing a twin gt28r on my 1jz 240sx and yes it is a pain, My SC is single and it was very straight forward upgrade.
Plus you really wont make much power with the twins simply because they will start to surge when you move into high boost.

+1 on the gt28 setup. Stu on supraforums is upgrading the internals of the stock USDM 2JZ-GTE turbos with the internals of gt28r's. Setup will still be sequential and from what I saw on the dyno, there is LOADS of torque below the 3500 rpm range. Also for us cali guys that would be beneficial since it will still attain stock-like appearance as far as cops are concerned.

But it all comes down to what your goals are. If your looking for a sheer HP Monster, then a Single setup will benefit you more. If your looking for a more torqy autocross type vehicle, then the sequential setup may be for you. Mind you that the sequential setup will run you more than the single, it all about your interests.

Heres a link to the page..start reading from post 47, thats where it gets interesting.. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...=427097&page=2

Single for maximum power, but equal size twins could give you quick spool and good power. such as there is a twin gt28r kit for sale on supramania. The guy is making 508rwhp i believe.
