Hissing noise when A/C is on
When I turn my A/C on, I hear this hissing noise. Is this normal? I think I need to re-charge my A/C because it doesn't blow ice cold air.

Ive got something like that same deal. I hear the hissing noise through the glovebox...when I first got my car I recharged the AC myself. About a week later it stopped blowing cold air, so I charged it with one more bottle and it has stayed ice cold for a good 2 months now. It still hisses, it doesnt 'sound' like a bad sound though...lets just hope for me and you that its not the AC Compressor working too hard.

Air inside...
The hissing noise is due to air in the system... which is usually caused by a leak. The refridgerant slowly leaks out and gets replaced by air. You'll find the hissing noise gets progressively longer the more you use the AC.
I found this out when I took my car in to get the AC fixed. They refilled the AC with the dyed refridgerant (to find the leak) after a week or so, the hissing noise started... it was short at first and then got longer and longer.
Hope this helps.
