Default Smell some gas in the ride

Hi, I just registered with the forum and see lots of useful info here.

My car is 1992 SC400, run pretty well and has two problem: there is a quick noise when the rpm pass 1200, and then the noise is gone. There is also some noise from under the car when floor on the gas gad.

When the car goes to a traffic light, I can smell a bit gas if I lower the windows, but the smell will be gone pretty quickly.

I guess there is a problem with the exhaust or it is a lazy cat, but just want to get you guys opinions on it.

I will get my car's left rear strut replaced tomorrow and now sure if they can also check my exhaust.

Another question is does any one know any good lexus mechanic in Rockville Maryland?

Stay tuned.
