Default New piping

Ok guys, in the process of cleaning up my piping and trying one last setup without the IC.

Here are some pics of the IC setup. This is what I had in all the vids I've made so far.

I don't have much to go to be completed. I have the bumper back on and the headlights in. I need to fit the IAT sensor and a hose barb fitting for the idle air control motor into the pipe before the throttle body. Then I have a few things I'd like to clean up a little under the hood, and that's about it for now.

I have confidence that this will be the best setup for me. I am hoping to have the instant response / boost that I had with my other non IC setups, but hopefully with some lower temps since the pipe is not ran in the engine bay. Without the IC, my HP levels up top should be about the same as without it, but down lower, where I couldn't make boost with the IC, I am hoping to see some improvement.

I am going to try and do some more 0-60 runs tonight or tomorrow, to get an idea of any change. I also have a freind who might come help me make some drive by vids and such.

Hopefully it works out well. If not, how about a smaller intercooler?

I have confidence in it working.

I can't complain about the performance with the IC. 0-60 times in 5 seconds is awsome. Just hoping to do better. Also, with the other non IC setups I tried, the car is much more fun to drive.

With this setup, I'm hoping for the best of both worlds.

BTW, the two pipes in the front are the same length as the IC, so if I decide to put it back, it should slide right in. Or I could try and find a smaller one that is the same length.

Yes. I ordered a set of the EKT headers when they were having the group buy on Lextreme. I have yet to see them. Last I talked to EKT, if I don't see them by the end of this month, I have the option of getting my money back.

If I ever get the headers, I will take a ton of pictures of them and post them in a seperate thread. I know there has been more questions about them than answers and I think the ClubLexus community would like to see them on display.

Ok, I'm done and have everything back together. I went for a drive to the grocery store and figured out that my MAF sensor wasn't reading. I re did the harness (I had lengthened it when I tried putting the MAF before the supercharger) and one of my connections came loose.

Needless to say, I wasn't able to really drive the car. With a blower and no MAF signal, the AFR goes extremely lean with any amount of throttle.

I did get an idea of what my intake temps will look like though. Without boost, driving slowly, I was seeing about 35-40 degrees above ambient. This is pretty awesome. With the other non IC setups I was getting 70 degrees + above ambient. With the IC setup I just removed, I was getting about 25-30 degrees above ambient. With my first IC setup (which sucked overall) I was getting 12-20 degrees above ambient.

If I can keep in the 40 degree range, I would be thrilled.

It has gotten late on me, so I won’t be doing any testing tonight, but look forward to some new vids tomorrow. I promise.
