I am going to try to get down to Rockingham this weekend, quarter mile track. I have ordered a few things to correct my belt alignment issue, which BTW, is much worse than I originally thought. Turns out that the steel spacers I had purchased at the hardware store had crushed and distorted when I tightened the supercharger to the bracket. Long story short, in a weeks time the new belt I put on is already pretty much toast. It's currently a 5 rib belt, the 6th rib is gone. I'll try and take some pics when I fix it.

I am curious as well. I'm not sure if you'd actually be able to read the temps though. My IAT is before the throttle body a few inches, a water/meth nozzle would be in the intake itself so you'd need an IAT in the manifold to see the temp reduction.

I think my setup without the intercooler is perfectly fine for daily driving but not ok for the track on a hot day. Regardless of wether or not I decide to keep the intercooler on for now, I would still very likely remove it during fall / winter.

Well see how it goes. Easy way would to be mounting the IAT sensor in an EGR block off plate. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone!

Im curious about intercooler again. Seems like you keeping doing this I wish the Intake manifold's TB faced the other way as it would make no IC much nicer.

Only problem with this idea...there's a tube that protrudes into the manifold from the EGR port. The purpose of the tube (I'm guessing) is to keep the EGR gasses evenly distributed. I think it would be a good place to squirt some juice. But, water, meth or nitrous sprayed into the tube may condesate within it causing other problems.

I know, I'm a spaz. Hopefully I can make it back to the track with the intercooler and NO OTHER CHANGES. I would then in theory know if the car is really any faster, or slower, with / without it.

Nah, the supercharger outlet is 2.5 and the intercooler in and out is 2.5, I'd hate to go any smaller. I currently have 2.5 to the intercooler, 2.5 to the bypass valve pipe, 3 inch the rest of the way to the throttle body.

My biggest concern right now is my belt. I have just about everything I need to fix it. I'll be under the hood tomorrow night.

BTW, I went out the other night with the intercooler and was still hitting about 10 psi, with a toasted belt. The belt is currently missing a rib and may be slipping.

Hoping to get to the 1/4 mile track Saturday night.

Some updates.

Weather permitting, I'll be running the quarter tomorrow night in Rockingham. Wish me luck!

I think I have my belt alignment problems fixed. I have two days on the new belt and so far everything looks good.

That's about it. I took a few pics while I was fixing my belt...

The engine bay looks naked without the supercharger.

The offset on the new pulley is different than the old pulley, I needed to move the supercharger closer to the bracket for alignment. This is the spacer setup I came up with on the first try. You can't really tell in the pic but the smaller spacers are distorted and crushed resulting in belt death.

This is the new spacer setup. Still not the best possible but much nicer than before.

Ok guys, ran the quarter and mostly good news. Still very hot outside, 95 degrees when I got there and around 89 degrees by the time I left. Only change since the last time at the 1/8, I put the intercooler back in.

Best run, launched at maybe 1000 rpm.

R/T .027
60 1.967
330 5.687
1/8 8.686 @ 82.15 (new fastest time and speed)
1000 11.306
1/4 13.498 @ 102.14

This was one of the last runs I made. On the next run, I tried to launch at higher rpms and spun through the 60ft. Then, the track timing system died and I did one run that was not timed. Also, it was starting to sprinkle. A few more passes and I think I could have come down a little more.

For some reason, I'm not making nearly as much boost in third gear, not sure why. Suspects.....bypass valve (have never really trusted it), PCV system (been thinking of using breathers), restrictive intake, belt slip (I really don't think so) and / or my restrictive OEM exhaust manifolds. Boost drops to 4 psi when the trans shifts to 3rd and then never really builds much more than 5-6 psi. Feels like it's bogging a little in 3rd.

My belt still looks brand new so I think my belt alignment problem is solved and I don't think I'm slipping.

I'm pretty happy with the time. I think there are still a few things that I can do to improve it, headers would help for sure.

I love my car. How many cars with 138k + miles on them push 9-10 psi and run 13.5's at the track. Not many. With the exception of a 69 (drag car) that was there, I'd have to say it was the sexiest car at the track as well.

why don't you add a catch can to delete the pcv all together?

KC, that is an awesome result from your most recent track day. 13.49 is up there with the factory freaks that are coming off the lot today. That is a really nice time for a daily driven street car with 130k miles.

Any word on your manifolds coming? I am sure that is robbing you a lot of usable 1/4-mile power.

Did you notice any straight line traction gained or loss from the shocks and springs being swapped in? Obviously, they are aiding lateral traction.
