LS1 into a SC300/400
looking to put a LSX (5.3 all alum) into a SC300/400 with an auto behind it. The motor will be also turbo'd and run via megasquirt. Has anyone put a LS based motor into one? if so can anyone provide links to swap help. Thanks.
I have found a few local cars in the 1k-2k range that have high miles and good bodies so its going to be a low cost project I hope.... have about 6k to toss at it.
thanks.

Why do what others have already done?
the alum 5.3 with a single turbo (70-76) with a good 4l60 should run pretty strong.......looking for high 9s on DRs
for the money to build the 1uz or even a 2jz ill be way faster imo with the LSX based motor.
lots of 240 and RX7 guys have done this so why not a SC
figured someone out there was crazy like me and had looked at other motor choices for the SC, guess you guys will just have to wait and see next spring when its getting closer to completed.

Lots of potential with the 1uz, hopfully by Feb. My dyno shop will get there new dyno in and we can see how much hp we can get out of a budget supercharger install. Im expecting to atleast put down 400whp with charger and the new cams plus misc bolt ons and AF tuning. Lextreme offers alot of high end performance parts for resonable now aswell.
Ide say you get get somwhere in the neigborhood of 800whp with about 10 to 12g's spent there on a built decompressed motor and supercharger. Then theres the whole tranny issue. but if your going that far ide say a th400 built would handle that fine and still be streetable...

Oh and the subframe is a problem with the sc for a ls1 ide think. The pan sits right down on it pretty much, i dont think you could get a ls1 in there without figuring somthing sly out for that...

alum 5.3 - 750 (6.0L is also a possible choice)
4l60 or T400 - 1k
turbo kit - 1k (ebay is great haha)
fuel system - 500
converter - 500
standalone EFI - free (megasquirt)
cage and motor plate - 600
figure find a high mileage car for under 2k
at most im going to have 8k into this car

I say go for it. There are a number of foreign LS1 swaps running around. Your best bet is to visit the Conversion and Hybrids second on www.ls1tech.com
I'm certain it could be done and would be a strong running machine.
