Default 5speed Tranny Oil Refill Hole

Does anyone know where I can refill manual tranny oil for my sc300. I think I found the drain hole but can't seem to find where it is to refill the oil for the tranny. Can someone help me please.

it is on the driver's side of the tranny towards the middle of the transmission. it was tightened down really tight on my car so i had to take it to a shop to have them do it so it wouldnt strip the bolt when i tried to do it

all you need is a pipe to use as leverage just need a little more torque.. your gonna need to get a suction pump to refill the fluid I think you can get them at any automotive store. just fill till it starts pouring back out then put the bolt back in, it drains faster if you take out the refill bolt as well. hope this helps
if your changing your tranny fluid it'd be good idea to change your differential fluid while your at it. bought my car used so I changed it all so now I have a reference point for myself

for mine it was tightened too much, even the shop i brought it to had to replace the bolt cause they broke it in the process of getting it off. but the rest is true, the pumps arent very expensive and easy to find, and you should change your diff fluid while your at it

just take off your 5 speed shifter and fill it from inside the car. the easiest way. just make sure you dont spill inside the car.

Yea, for some reason the fill AND drain plug on my tranny were retardedly tight. I had to use a 2 foot leverage bar to break that sucker free.

In the end, I won the battle.

How would you know when it was full though? I'd assume it'd start coming out of the fill plug before it'd come up to the shifter.

Ditto and if you got any of the fluid in your interior its gonna be a PITA better to do it properly with a pump. I forgot to add that you might want to change your seals on the bolt. when I changed mine they were in pretty bad shape, probably due to over tightening by the previous person. just use pliers and pry off the old ones

can you just buy some transmission fluid at autozne, ect. and put it in and will it shift smooth or does it have to be toyota/lexus fluid?

gunnar: you basically get a measuring a cup and measure how much you put in, and no you shouldnt overfill, its a specific amount you can get it off the Toyota Supra TSRM or ask the dealer how much you need to fill in.

SC30096: when you open the shifter you will actually see the ground under you, so anything you miss will spill to the ground. But that **** smells.

SC300 704: Do not use autozone fluid EVER, use GM synchro mesh tranny fluid, RedLine fluids or alot of people prefer Royal Purple, i tried RedLine and didnt like it, i heard alot of good stuff about GM Synchro Mesh. << pick it up from the GM dealer.

and dont bother pumping fluid in its a headache.
