I just did another swap to my 92 sc400 ,and like i said over and over its a wiring issue. There is a black wire on the white body plug (the one next to the orange plug) that has to be disconnected in order for the 95-97 sc to work, also you might want to try to wire in the starter the right way .I think on supraforums they had this posted in the mkiv section ,I would of get the link for you but im banned ,Try that ,it should solve the problem.

Alright, i need some help. I cut that black wire, and now the airbag light doesnt stay on all the time like it did, but the starter switch wont turn on the starter, i want to try and wire the starter correctly but idont know how and couldnt find the link on supra forums.
sc250tt, if you could give me some more advice i'd really appreciate it.
EDIT: so i decided to reconnect the black wire and start the car, then disconnect the wire while it was running, i did, and BAM it revs all the way up!!! so now i just have to figure the starter situation out. I'm soo excited

if the SC is like any other car on the plannet and you want a easy fix for now try this.
get any 2 wire momentary "push button". run one of the 2 wires to 12v switched power (has power when the key is on, and goes off when the key is off). run the other wire from the button to the starter signal wire. (if you use a test light...just find the wire that when you turn the key to "start" position it has power and as soon as you let go of the key it no longer has power.
by doing this...when you push that button it will send power to the starter signal to start the car.

Im glad you got it running right .I never did this but from what i understand to get the starter to work the wires are under the car. It should be the two biggest wires on the harness going to the transmission .Connect them together and it should work.

i wired the starter temporarily, to the battery but i'll find a better way of doing it soon, just not alot of time on my hands. But WOW, i'm so happy with the swap, i love the power of the 1jz and it gets pretty decent mileage from what i can tell. After all the BS, its kinda funny that it only took clipping a small black wire to get it running correctly.

So what little black wire did you cut? Share the secret ...lool I pm'ed you.
As for the starter, I ran a wire from the starter signal wire, which is the same wire you have running to your battery, to the IGN2 wire on the ignition harness under the steering wheel. I can get you the exact color, but its not hard to test, just get a voltage meter, and put the key on the crank position and see what wire give you +12V.
Any alarm guy can wire it for you its really ez. and now my car starts up from the key.
