Quick update on getting the reverse wires to work.
Find the large 9 wire plug.
Then turn the ignition on to the run position.
Jumper the these two pin positions, The reverse lights should come on. If you dont have a buddy there to check the lights coming on just prop a mirror up behind the car like I did. I think the wire positions/colors should be pretty standard but just in case, you might have to try another wire.
Just for referance the wires on my 97 are Yellow abd light blue. I am sure the yellow is always standard as that is the power.
Here are some pics of the hook up.

Jumper the wire to test lights.

Strip back side wires. Note colars are Light Blue and Yellow

Solder in the revers wires from the transmission and tape them up.

That should get the Backup lights working!

Just a note: Scott was dead on with this one.

My wires were in the same positions on the plug, but mine were yellow and red with a blue stripe as oppossed to yellow and light blue. The yellow wire appears to be standard.

I had a light blue wire elsewhere on the plug, but I did not need to mess with it to get the reverse light wired. I simply used the wires in the same positions as the one's Scott needed to get his working: super simple fix to something that could have been otherwise rather ornery.

I cant lie, my dash is a lit up like a X-mas tree. I have Traction control lights blinking and CEL aglow. Egr, Traction control, and some transmission codes are to blame. I will soon install a stand alone and the bulbs are coming out. At this point, I really could care less what my ECU thinks is going wrong because it feels so right!

Here is the latest problem, if I throw second gear hard and fast my car sometimes throws the belt.
Two things are causing this,
1. The supercharger puts extra work on the belt, you can see the tensioner pivot when you rev it.
2. The six speed manual transmission puts a lot of backlash/tension in the belt when shifter under hard acceleration.

If you intend to do a manual swap or supercharger or both, I would do this mod.

The credit for this idea goes to KC95SC400 he came up with it on his supercharger install. THANKS KC!
Here is my version of it.

Spare Mock up motor for referance.

Installed on my car.

I will test drive it tomorrow to see if it solves the problem, I am pretty sure it will.

Scott

Might you want to grind down the tab on the tensioner just a bit to make the screw assembly you made sit more perpindicular to the tensioner tab? The way it sits, it looks like the tensioner, if revved enough, could cause the ball end of the screw assembly to slip right past the tensioner tab.

Good thought, It's really is fairly solid, I figure the aliminum will take a natural wear from the ball. The plan was to try to cover a full range of adjustment. Now put a little cup/socket in the tab to receive the ball? Theres a good plan. Thanks.
