Next hurdle is the top of the transmision. It looks like the Starter gear will hit the trannys bell housing when it comes out. I am going to have to clearance it and build a cover plate. I will keep you posted.

I learned a long time ago that Bolt on is never. Anything worth doing will take some work. All in all the adaptor ring and clutch are good stuff, imagine how long this would take to start from scratch. The ring is a precision machined part and fits well. Time will tell how it all works out.

That work with the adapter plate is awesome.
The simplicity of the starter bolt cut outs makes you wonder why the adatper plate was not designed that way.
I am anxious to see how you manage to clear the starter gear itself. I hope that will not require major trimming.
ps. That clutch looks incredible.

Fwiw, the new bolts don't back out so much as they push the starter forward. You can still take of the starter with the motor/tranny in place with the adpater, and the starter will drop right into the block valley.

The adapter plate was never meant to cut like that so obviously we can't/won't be held responsible for the plate. That being said, why didn't you just install the new starter bolts that came in the kit? They clear the adapter perfectly.

The Kit states that the bolts will be very hard to get out even using the optional bolts. This modification seemed simple enough. I am not worried about strength there, there is no bolts above where I notched it anyway.
