Another "my gas mileage stinks" thread.

Can anyone post more info on this O2 testing stuff? I replaced one of mine recently because of a check engine light reading, but I'm still getting like 17-18 mpg in the city (22 AT BEST on the highway). I bought an RMS multimeter a few weeks ago, so is this something I can use to test my sensors?

Haven't gotten a good test since I replaced my spark plugs about 4 months ago, but last time I did get a good test I got right around 27 on the highway. Seems the secret to getting mileage in the SC is:
Don't use the AC (no problem now that it's cold), sweat to death in the summer instead;
Accelerate like you have an egg under the gas pedal.
Only thing not factory on my engine is the K&N cone filter the previous owner put on. I seriously doubt that's giving me that much extra mileage. This car just has so much heft there is no good way to get good city mileage, which is where I assume all of you are driving. And as with any car, shut it off if you're gonna have to idle, and use the brakes as little as possible, that's a little easier for me though, cuz I have a 5-spd and can go into no-gas mode when I coast. I've gotten just about all of the lights in my area down, so it's a lot easier to predict when they're going to change and whatnot, makes it easier to coast down, or not slow down at all.
Summation: If you're driving in the city, drive something else =) I've taken to biking everywhere I need to go, cuz I can't afford the city mileage any more!

Well scratch that 58, im in fact getting 94.1 per quarter tank!! Almost 20 mpg!! When i told you i was only getting 58, my gas indicator was on empty but it stayed that way for a couple of days and drove it till the gas light came on. When it came on, it said 94.1
