Turboing the 400
Hey,
I was wondering what type of turbo and setup would be best suited for the SC400? Also, what parts would be needed to successfully turbo the 400?
I know that there was an earlier post on what would be needed but I can't find it.
Thanks,
Nick

Jeff we both need new titles in this board...
We should be called
"SC3 Turbo Evangelists"
hellasboy, the information you're looking for could be found on the supraforums.com board... and Lex Luthor has some information on it as well
A couple aussies have done this; but not many in the US. So it would most likely be a total custom job

Would you guys stop telling everyone they should buy the SC300 over the SC400... at least long enough for me to find a good one!
hellasboy and all others: Pay no attention to these people... You want a SC400... everyone go sell your SC300 as quickly as you can and find a 400 to buy... now!... sell it at a giveaway price if you have to just to get rid of it, especially if it's a 5 speed car...

Jeesh folks, we need people to practice T'ing their 400's, so give the guy a break. We will never have a turbo kit if everyone answers "Get a 300 and Turbo it".
My advice is to go the supercharger route. Most likely hood clearance will be a problem, but there are several custom blown 400's out there. Don't ask me where, but I have seen pics of a couple.

AAAAH screw it...
the more and more I read and try to understand turboing the 400 the more and more I realise it isn't worth it.
Any idea how much more room you would need to fit a supercharger under the hood of a SC4? If I can get away with a small IS type bump in the hood then I might just go with that. I'm going to check out a few local shops and see what they can do... especially since my intake project is put on hold.
and i knew someone was going to reply about buying a 300

If you want a turbo car get the Supra, ZX, MR2, RX7 without the fuss of doing anything... That is more reliable and you can get a warranty on the car...

hellasboy....where do you live....a tuner here in AL says he can put about 8 psi from a supercharger under our hood for 3k. He's pretty sure he can fit one under there, and if not....u can get a hood with just a little bump like the one from the autocoulture kit.

I'm in Colorado... 8psi for 3k? That's not bad. I'd drive down to AL for that
Regardless, as much as i hate to say it, it looks like I'm going to have to hold off on it, intake project is back on

This message is for Adam Butler. Hey man, I have an SC400 & I am located in Auburn, AL. Where exactly does this guy that'll install the blower live? It's good to hear there are some other folks with SC's here in BAMA.
