Infineon Raceway Track Pix
November 11, Infineon Raceway, Sonoma California: NASA HPDE 3 track time, can do corners but prefers the straights (there aren't any, lol, fix in the works:
^^Notice in the above pix there is no passenger seat today ! They are MKIV seats so I stay put.^^
There is an extra air dam visible to scoop additional air to the KOYO.

Yeah, as much fun as you can have with your clothes on.
Dude, lol, you have fallen victim to the law of unintended consequences ! That is freaking bizzare..

1) I'm throughly jealous.
2) Does that mean you're in Group 3?
I really wanted to make this event, but I found out about it last Tuesday, and I figured it wasn't enough time to get my NASA membership, prep my car, and cancel my fishing trip. =Þ
Any idea what the calendar for 2008 looks like?
I'm signing up for a membership, and will definitely be out there next time.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as all I've done to this point has been limited to 1/4 mile.
Cheers,
~Alan

Alan, this NorCal schedule just went up : http://www.nasaproracing.com/schedules/norcal2008.html , I now run HPDE group 3 with a new respect for cars on "R-Compound" tires and some better driving. HPDE 1&2 is important and a hell of a lot of fun as well (did I mention "no speed limits"); just tightly inforced, sane passing rules.
fwiw, my $.02: Brake pads take the brunt of the wear and tear, they must be above 50% life, same for rotors.. All fluids must be fresh, clean and topped off. As for everything else on the first time out, for the 4x20 minutes sessions, these are good cars and get through it. Don't stress, relax, enjoy yourself, drive within you limits, there's nothing to prove out there and remember its taking you home at the end of the day! For all kinds of stuff about road track tips and insight, visit here and read the fourth and fifth Sticky, (you've been warned !!, lol): http://www.supraforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10
If I were to do only one upgrade before track day and I was otherwise bone stock it would be to do the LS400 or MKIV TT brake upgrade, followed by a good DOT track tire like the Falken Azenis RT-615 or similar. Though you'd be ok on your first session "as-is" to see if its for you.
PM me about joining NASA via a local race shop (same price) who will do your required "Tech Inspection" form before each event as well as give you nicely printed numbers.
Here's a look out the drivers side window at one-minute warning, freaking nice cars, those M3's had race compounds, the mazda in front of me was turbo'd
Biggu, the FMIC is 28x11x3, eBay and flawless after two years, no regrets, thanks for the compliment.

Dave,
Thanks for the link, and for the offer to refer a shop. I was going to pay the membership fee directly later today.
I'll definitely make it a point to make it out to as many events as I can next year.
Have you ever done autocross?
I'll be sending you a PM.
Cheers,
~Alan
I'm gonna go ahead and beat SCoupe to what I'm 100% sure he would post in response:

I'm going to repost this into suspension threads until its more widely known on our forum. This is custom to the SC300. Note the Bilstein shocks will work only with Supra style Springs.
Check out this astonishing, complete how to "Sticky" thread on Supraforums re: custom Bilstein coilover setup for the SC300, Hot Link here: The gixxer_drew suspension thread..
