The flashing CEL is a "pending" code. When the CEL light is on constant it is a "hard" code. The difference between the 2 is the computer needs to see the fault of the pending code after a few more drive cyles to set it in the computer memory. If it is intermittent it might go out. But if its not then it will be permanently on. A local shop shouldnt have any problem pulling these codes. Even if the scanner is outdated, they should still be able to read pending and hard codes. Read my previous post and try those steps first before throwing any more parts at it

i am still aiming to fuel problems, try changing the fuel pump.

as for the CEL, if it keeps flashing when the pins are jumped that means there is nothing wrong. If it blinks and stops and blinks and stops it means something. You need to count how many times it is blinking ussually its a 2 digit code so

Blink...blink..................blink and repeats means code 21, search on the forums you will find what the code means

It could be an EGR valve opening and closing at the wrong time. Many times, it will not trip the OBD2 and cause an error code, but it will contribute to that juddering.

You beat me to it. This is the first thing I thought of going into this post. Run some diagnostics on this or just bypass it.

Its not the EGR, i had that problem also, it will not make your car limp home. Its just really bad idling, or when you drive alot and come to stop, it feels like it wants to shut off. I cleaned my EGR and those little symptoms went away. But what he is explaining is bigger.

Try a new fuel pump, there is a walbro on supra forums for 70.00

FIGURED IT OUT

Well it turns out my initial problem was a sticky TPS sensor.
I replaced the maf sensor at first and got even worse results. It turns out the maf sensor i bought to replace the original was bad, and that the original was fine.

So the stock MAF is back in the car, and there is a new TPS on it, runs like a champ!

Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions, hopefully this topic is closed forever.

glad to hear you go this fixed man, i'm surprised that the dealer could not figure out what the heck was going on, i don't think we have had anything that we could not fix at our shop. i work for an audi dealership and we have tons of help for tricky issues. Typically our shop foreman and team leaders will help out, if that does not work we have a technical assistance line where we can get further help. we can use tele-diagnoses for real tricky stuff, and if the tech assist can't help, we can escalate the issue to our technical field manager who will come out to check on the car, and if that fails then we talk to germany. i know of only one time when we had technicians come from germany to figure out the issue, this was on one of the first s5's we got. i'm sure lexus and many other manufacturers have some sort of diagnoses support system.
