Default Mass Air Flow senor question..

I've got a 93 sc400 and it throws a check engine light. sometimes in reverse or drive it will cut off itself. i took the mass air flow sensor out to inspect it, i notice it has a very small crack at the tip of the stalk at the end. will a small crack effect idle hesitating, fluctuation? help a new lexus owner. i prolly should searched too.

Did you pull the code to see if it is your MAF?

Yes, and I believe there is also one under the hood on the drivers side. Marked with a black case that says "Diagnostics."

Jump TE1 and E1 with a paperclip or something and count the blinks.
