^^ my stock CT26 7mgte made 270rwhp at 8psi. Freshly rebuilt of course with exhaust/piggyback.

Dyno Numbers Are In!!
The DYNO numbers are in!!!!!
I had to go to school and they were going to be really busy there today so I didn't get any footage, that would have been schweet. Anyways, finally, here are the numbers to back up the beast. Single...is not so far away.
So, it's 297rwhp...almost...when I put on my dual 12" electric fans, hopefully that will give me the hp needed to make it into the 300 club. The hp isn't what I was most concerned about on this tune, it was the fuel, which as you can read from the sheet (barely), it was HORRIBLE with a capital cuss word. Stay 'tuned' for the track numbers in the spring. Holla at a slaya when you see me in the skreets.

well said cherplex, maybe I will return them, I just got talked into it by another guy. Yeah, whichever single 1JZ300 is running is the one I'll probably get, but I need another car first so the Lex can be my weekend warrior.

my friend has a 1990 mk3 supra with 1jz and gt35 single, soon to be GT37R, and still running stock fan with no problem in slow city driving or drifting events. moral of the story: stick with stock fan. if that money is really burning a hole in your pocket you can give it to me. i need to finish some stuff on my 240.

all good man, i cant wait to see it push 350. You know when imports sometimes do the 'drive-by blowoff'? When they shift right by you so you can hear their BOV, well this supercharged 350Z did that to me today, so I have declared all 350Zs my mortal enemies. I am looking for all the 1JZs out there to rally and take em out, who's with me.

A 78mm turbo would be massively overkill on a 2.5L unless you beefed up the bottom end, rebuilt the valvetrain, tuned a standalone, dropped in 330 duration cams, idled at 3000, and revved to 10,000. Although, at that point, the car would kick *** on the strip.
If you were indeed talking about the T78, a 67mm would push some really awesome numbers: well over 400whp with any kind of a tune. Although, on just a piggyback, I think a 61-63mm would present better value as the positive spool characteristics would make the power band more well utilized with the stock redline. A 61-63mm can make 400-450whp on a good piggyback tune @ ~20psi with spool coming in hard around 3k and peaking before 4k.
From what I have researched and from what I want from my SC (a kick *** all around street car), a 61-63mm on the 1JZ would be both a good value and good to preserve some semblance of throttle linearity. A T78 will be very laggy in comparison to the stock twins...although 400whp is a breeze once you are boosting.

Blizzy, excellent words. I was talking about the T78 and thanks for correcting me and showing me the possibilities, I am going to go single one day, lol. Out of curiosity, what is the 'safe' psi for a 1JZ without a single on it? I'm running 15 now, could it be 17 or 18?

sank you sir...now its time to get the eletrical system fixed. My windows/ door locks havent worked for a few months...just wanted to get that thing tuned so bad..lol..oh well.

You can always boost more with the stock twins if you get them rebuilt with stainless steel impeller shafts. Then, you can psuh 20psi like the USDM Supra TT guys do on their stock twins. If you can find a turbo shop in town to do the job for cheap, it might be worth it for that extra 5psi as well as the piece of mind.
A lot of Aussie guys rebuild the stock turbos for cheap power while maintaining good turbo response to have the widest possible power band on the stock redline.
