DIY: How to relocate the wiring harness your tire had for lunch v. LOL

i didn't want a whole other wire loom running through the engine bay, so i just simply tucked the harness as high as possible under the fender and cut a piece of flat sheet metal to cover the harness. So that way when ever the tire bottoms out it just hits the sheetmetal and the harness is protected. Haven't had a problem in 3 years.

there'll be almost no play, but yes, it is long enough to be relocated. airbag cable is not. The airbag cable will need to be lengthened via *snip* and *splice*. as for the hood cable, I just tucked that up and zip tied it up via existing holes and holes that I drilled into the frame.

When doing this by removing the plugs from the inside do I really have to "Then remove the wiper harness. You'll have to cut and splice these 5 wires. Remove the tape holding the harness to the grommet and pull it through"

I didn't touch anything of that sort. no cutting or splicing at all, the only thing i cut was the rubber grommet after I separated it from the metal plate to free the wires. might be a difference in the vehicles? *shrug*

i relocated mine by removing the black clip that holds the wires on and cutting a slot in the bracing behind the fender that keeps you from moving the wires higher up the ziptied them in place took about 5 minutes

Is this DIY recommended for only dumped sc's or lowered sc's w/ inch or 2 drop? Probably safe than sorry but just curious as to finding out is this necessary or just recommended for even a slight drop too?

Its easy enough to do that you might as well go ahead and do it no matter how big the drop. I did mine in about 30 minutes with no cutting or soldering.
