cool, thanks.
the 1.5jz sounds like a good idea. i'd really like to do a 1jz swap and a 2jz swap simply to know how to do each swap.
i got my sc for next to nothing because it had a bad rod bearing (sounded wonderful, haha!) so i NEED a whole new motor.
does the 1jz use side feed injectors like the 2jz? what size are the factory 1jz injectors? i have a 68mm single to use on the car, just want to make sure i have enough fuel at low boost before i waste my time strapping it down on the dyno. i'd really like to get the car drivable on the stock computer so that i can do AEM and a fuel system at the same time. have to finish the race car before i can really start spending a bunch of money on this car.

1jz injectors are very small, like 370's or something.. You will need to upgrade. You could use USDM TT 2jzgte injectors which are 550's but you will need a 7mgte injector resister pack.
Bad rod bearing? Meh.. you could always rebuild the GE bottom end before you throw the 1jz top end on it.. 1.5jz is the way to go if your not going full 2jzgte and its what I plan on doing to save me time and money on wiring.
Are you serious?? 1jz and 2jz swap just to know how to do it? Save yourself some money and ask the pros lol.. I would stick to one swap and make it quick.

resistor pack...easy enough. how does the computer like going from a 370 to a 550? on a honda i would no matter what use hondata and tune it...not sure if the toyota computer can adapt at all.... thats a pretty big jump.
this motor is trashed for sure. i havnt taken the engine apart yet....but i don't think its salvageable at all.
im dead serious on doing both swaps.....maybe not on the same car. i know how to do all the different honda swaps, (actually havnt done a k swap yet, but doing one for my room mate before new years) and it helps pay the bills.....

I am pretty sure you will need some way to tune your fuel map. SAFCII or something rather, which should be able to recognize the 550's easily. The resister pack is because of the low impedance/high impedance.

yea we have to do the same thing with the resistor box's on honda's.
i hate AFC's with all my heart lol........ maybe i'll just throw the stock turbo's in until i find an AEM. i have a honda AEM box that i could convert...but thats more hassle than its worth.
anybody using any auto tranny fluid that seems to work any better than anything else? the manual trans fluid from the dealer is crazy expensive, i hope the auto stuff isnt the same haha

hopefully im putting it in the car 100% stock to get some dyno numbers, then probably make a downpipe on the stock turbo's so i can make a jig of it, and see if it picks up any power. i'll do a frontmount instead of the sidemount though, so i guess it wont be bone stock.
after that i have a 68mm turbo to put on it so then i'll do a 4 inch stainless downpipe and 4 inch aluminum exhaust. just need to find a free AEM box laying around haha
i need to find a set of wheels too
