i'm next...i need a ride in your car to give me the final convincing...
Tony,
I'll let you try it after I fix a few minor things. The custom pulley in place of the hydro pump pulley gave up on me and I'll need to take off the turbo to fix it. Pain in the ***! Then I'll do the wheel alignment and mufflers alignment. And I'll let you test it to convince you...LOL. What are you waiting for?
The project takes about a year now because I didn't have much time to work on it.
Using 1 stock header and the fabricated header will yield me at least +150 and I'm sure of that. I can wage on it anytime.
It's just not me but I'm happy that our SC400 crowd is at least getting somewhere in the fast performance world.
I wonder if there's any Single Turbo SC400 has been done before. Just out of my curiosity. Does anyone know?
simply amazing. yeah i bet you saved a lot of money doing the work yourself. that is for sure. looks good though, i am interested in how the trans will hold.
The internal is stock. Several of us ran twin turbo system up to 17 psi, or NOS on this engine and make 378 - 512 rwhp just fine. Comparing to stock 180 rwhp, that's a huge gain. So I'll just run for 12 psi to be safe. Several of them using stock tranny and they keep up just fine. I'll have the torque converter rebuilt for stronger and higher stall speed so the 1st breakable part is resolved. I'm also having the tranny cooler so that may help a lot for the tranny itself.
Twisted, you're right. It takes a lot of time to build it so it's understandable. I can build a Honda turbo system within a week, but this V8, oh man! But I think it's worth it.
