Serpentine belt snapped...

Sorry for double post, but I just tried to put on that belt with two people..
One pulled the tensioner and held the light while the other tried to put it on.
It's TOO tight.
Couldn't get it on tonight..
Good god.

I was able to move the tensioner and get my belt on and off myself when I changed mine. All you have to do is make sure it is on correctly and it should just slide on. Serpentine belt shouldn't be too hard to remove. And for the hydraulic pump you need to keep the pulley secure as you turn the bolt, and tighten it to 43ft/lb

Stupid question, but does anyone know if the '93 GS400 and the '93 SC400 have the same size belt?..
The guy at advance defenitely got a GS400 belt, but I figured it didnt matter because they share the same motor.
Also, the belt is TIGHT..
Like, it was impossible to get on, so we're just going to try tomorrow.

i dont have the same car, but i recently replaced mine on my 03 Tundra and it was a ***** as well. i was doing it by myself and finally figured a way to rig it so the tensioner was held all the way and i could use two hands to slip the belt on. also look and see if there is one pulley that is easier to put the belt around last. one may be easier than another...
im sure you are since you are saying its "tight" rather than "its not even close," but double check and make sure you are putting in on correctly/it is routed the route way. it might just take a few tries. new belts are always more difficult to put on than taking off old ones b/c they havent stretched at all. hope this helps and sorry to hear about the catastrophe.
lastly, i think it was answered but it wont matter if the motor is interference or non-interference as this does not affect timing/etc. your motor should be just fine once you get the pulley and belt back on.

That is the hydraulic fan pump which feeds the hydraulic cooling fan directly behind your radiator. The fan requires the pumping systme for it to function. If the pump is bad, you will overheat. Best thing to do is check to see if this pump needs replacing, and if so, either replace it with a new or properly working used one, or switch to electric fans. Hopefully the nut just came loose, and the pump is still good. If not, the switch to electric fans will cost you about $250 to $300 if you do it yourself, and more if someone else does it for you. A new pump will be expensive fro the dealer. Contact Gazi, he should have a good used one for you. Remember to use FIPG (Lexus RTV) when replacing the pump. If you swap to electric fans, you will also need to replace the pump with the LS400 pulley, which is also quite expensive. No matter what, this will probably cost you $500 to get done.
