it works as i did this to my honda... only problem is that the original cracked rubber still sits within the newly filled mount and causes it to deteriorate. your best bet is to trace where the mount hole goes and remove all the old rubber then replace. It is a good upgrade when replacing the trans mount to fill the holes and gaps. be aware your car will vibrate much more with the urethane in the mounts.

I did it to my old Celica a few years ago. They worked nice and are a great alternative if you can't afford new stuff--like me!

I did the mounts on my Camry, worked well, but the top mount seemed to rip apart easy.

fyi i use hockey pucks on all custom swaps i do ie: rb and 2jz motors in weird cars with custom welded mounts. they work great!!!! i stack 3 hockey pucks and liquid nails all 3 of them together. then drill a hole in the middle and use a grade 8 or higher stud makes a great solid mount with just enough to absorb major engine shaking but still feels solid when your behind the wheel. ive been testing this setup for about 2 1/2 years now i check the mounts daily on all the cars ive installed on thats a total of 4 and there have been no signs of deterioration
