A lot of smaller companies outsource their exhaust systems from Magnaflow/Borla/Etc-big-exhaust-companies with their logos engraved. Just like Hamann outsourcing theirs from supersprint.

For the money you paid, i'd chip in a little more and buy a 5zigen. Carson Toyota is doing a group buy.

I have no problem with it being a MAGNAFLOW exhaust my problem is that instead of it being a blank stainless steel canister with a small Rod Millen Logo, this thing arrives with MAGNAFLOW imprinted on it as well as being dented, scratched and poorly welded. I am comparing this to past REMUS, TRUST/GREDDY and BORLA purchases from the past. I am even comparing this to my old STILLEN exhaust for my previous 96 300ZX Turbo as well as my 96 INFINIT Q45t.

I just got off of the phone with Luis at Carson Toyota. I inquired about the GB on the 5Zigen exhaust and he told me that they have been discontinued for some time now and that no other offering by 5Zigen will fit my application. I even inquired about the SC300 and GS models and he reiterated that NONE will fit my car. I than asked him about the RMR SC400 axle-back exhaust, and that if he knew they said MAGNAFLOW on the canister. He said that the last two that he sold did have it imprinted on the top and bottom of the canister.

man sorry that happened to you, we have all been there. if you REALLY REALLY wanted that exhaust (and for the money i see you did) give them a chance to redeem themselves and see what the outcome is. i know it sucks but just stay patient and see what they will do for you

Tell me if you guys think this is fair. They said that they would credit me $145.00 so that my total for this exhaust would be $400.00 they also said if I had any problem with this dented one that I could exchange it at a later time. I had them look at some of their other SC400 exhausts and he said that they all had weld over-spray on them and the technician that had done my exhaust as well as the others is no longer working for them. They did say that this is the exact muffler that they have always used just that it has the word MAGNAFLOW plastered across it. Is $400.00 too much for a cosmetically damaged exhaust. What would you guys do????

it is too much money. my buddy had a full custom exhaust made for his sc300 that cost 425. that included 2 magnaglow mufflers and a new y-pipe. it wasnt just two mufflers that bolted up. it was a whole new exhaust from the part where the single exhaust under the car splits into two. it sounds awesome and looks sick.

return this crap and get one custom made.

That is WAY too much. I paid $680 for a full header-back system. Mandrel bent too. Thats with the cost of a high flow cat and resonator. I had the mufflers already. Save yourself some money and return that crap!

I spent $500 for a Magnaflow X-Pipe, 2 mufflers, and ALL new piping, welded up and installed for me in less than 2 hours.

I'd say its too much for a non "JDM" name.

I would agree that that is too much for a tip and universal muffler. For that money return the exhaust buy two ebay universal mufflers and have a complete system welded up for you from the first cats back. Delete the third cat and both resonators the car will sound awesome!

On another note the 5zigen mufflers you were told were discontinued....were those the Fireball megas?
