Talking Short Shifter Kit??!!?!?

Does Anyone Know Of A Short Shifter Kit For A '92 Sc300.
This Seems To Be The Only One I Have Found But The People That Advertise This Kit Can't Verify That It Actually Fits In A '92 Sc300... Does Anyone Know If It Actually Fits And Is Functional In The 92-sc300??

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated!

THANKS! I'm new to this site....

I just ordered the one from suprasport.com.... hope it works out well... from the sounds of previous posts it should work fine. I'll let you know when it come and I install it.

Does anyone know anything about removing that center console to switch out shifters? is it an easy task?

Thanks.

Yea:

1. Unscrew shift ****, pull up shift boot, it should come out easily.
2. Pull up your cupholder, remove radio and temp control ****
3. Remove screws that are found underneath the shift boot and cupholder with a philips head screwdriver
4. Carefully pry away from the dash the trim, unplugging the the electrical connection found in the back, TEMP, Hazard and Cig lighter.
5. From there you are free to remove your shifter. Ensure the shifter is in neutral before removing or installing.

I am writing this from memory, anyone chime if I missed anything.

And most of all ....Good Luck.

^^^^^ what??? all that for what? just take ur shift **** off then the trim thats around the shifter with the booth atached to it, that pops off, so pop that off and then revove the 4 screws for the ruber boot and there is ur shifter... then the rest is straight forward... and why would you need to take the volume and temp ***** off?

Because unless you have girl hands, and you probably do. You will need the extra room to get down in the tunnel to replace the shifter. Now let grown men talk, LMAO. Removing the center trim helps alot. Ashtray was getting in my way.

Pictures i posted from my install:

you shouldnt need to remove the more than the shift surround. Thats why they created extension bars for tools

Ive got a C's shifter. Its the dogs.

Well, that's fine with extension, but placing the shift and ball was a problem for me, again. Big Hands. C's shifter seem to have too many parts the one from Supra Sport was nicer, IMHO.

Have you seen cheaper, because they all seem over $300.00. C's and SupraSports. Considering replacing stock shifter is more, I know I checked with Lexus. Something like $390.00. If you just want a more tactile feel from you stock shifter, just go to a toyota parts and get the plastic grommet that goes on the end of the shifter. It would tighten up feel just nicely.
