Not absolutely sure yet. But I'm hoping within this month. Towards the end maybe.

I would love to go with Ferrea valve train but they pretty damn expensive lol. Maybe in the future.

Once I rip apart the bottom end I will be able to decide what to do. If the bottom end looks good I will be upgrading the head. Otherwise if it doesn't rebuild bottom end with new rings/bearings/bolts plus a fresh hone. Then swap over 2jz valvetrain on the 1jz head. I'll post up some pictures once I have time to open up the block.

A little update.

I had the head hot tanked, sand blasted and hot tank. I'm picking up some crower valves for the exhaust side since they are pretty much useless.
Still need to test my valve springs to see if they are still useable for now.

Took the block apart the other day. Doesn't look too good.
Bearings looks like it had oil starvation. So I went ahead and order brand new ACL bearings and ARP rod/main studs.

I'm having a really difficult time finding the piston rings....
I will post up some pictures in a few days.

Look what one of my buddies brought over a couple of days ago.
Took it around the block, boy does it pull.

A little bit of update...

Still am looking for piston rings can't find them!! if anyone can help me please PM me!!

Pulled out the pistons sometime last week.

Half Semi cleaned.

Half cleaned as much as possible.

Here are the rod bearings. Pulled the rod caps off was pretty damn happy!

Until.. I saw the rod side of the bearing.. Oil starvation.

As soon as I find those damn piston rings I will reassemble the engine. I might having to end up using 3sgte piston rings as they are the same size but no one has ever confirmed that they work.

I had no idea what condition it was in. Even if it was good I would have tore the head apart and rebuild it and replace all seals and gaskets. But ending up I'm doing refull rebuild.
Seems like I need new exhaust valves as well. Looks pretty burnt.
