Default Newbie just inherited my first SC and I need help

Well, I just inherited my Dad's 92 SC400 with 124k on it. Seeing as I am a BMW guy my whole life (don't hold against) I need some serious help in upgrades. It obviously has the 4.0 L (3968 cc) all-alloy 1UZ-FE with roughly 256HP same torque, for the weight of this car, my first thought was, how can I get more power, little slow off the line. Is it possible to do FI on the V8? I notice most that do FI with the V6 from the sc300. I would assume I need to look at the brakes and what are my suspension options? I would like to drop 1" to 1.5". Do I do new springs/shocks for that drop or coilovers? Last, I want to do 18" or 19" Volk wheels, does 19" start affecting my ride quality?

Lot of questions, thanks for your help, feel free to point me to the right directory or keyword search

hey eric from seattle. unlike greedy people on supraforum who dont share the search button with new members, we do

all of your questions have been answered before. from brakes, FI, weight reduction, to other performance upgrades. planetsoarer is another great site for FAQ.

btw the sc300 has a I-6 not a V6

word od advice on wheels....dont be a puss and go big!!!! you can easily fit some 18x10.5 with low teen offsets under factory metal with a roll and light pull

one mod i think some people do that makes an improvement is a torque converter. i'd like to do it if i had some extra money but i'm more into show than go so.. if i ever have to replace my 1UZ engine, i'd definitely swap in an insanely-powerful engine. look at intellexual.net/faq/, too.

You can pretty much build up either an Sc300 or a 400 by just searching for it in the forum. You can search for threads by ScottURnot, SC400TT or even Lextreme. They are some of the well known V8 guys here with some VERY nice projects going on. For example, a 6 speed turbocharged Sc400... Just serach!

FI on the V8 is possible with some creative headers, or a rear mount setup, or there are kits to adapt a M112 supercharger from a cobra out there. Just do a few searches and you can read all about them. ScottURNot has a nice super setup along with some other goodies. There's another thread using a vortech V2, as well as emerald (in some older threads) that did a single rear mount turbo setup.

Just remember, Search is your friend or OLT will be your best friend
