Default STS Turbos?

Has anyone had an experience with STS turbos (Squire turbo systems)? I've never heard of them before but they have a universal kit that they guarantee will work with my sc4. Needless to say i don't want to put a ton of cash in to a turbo unless i know it works well with the SC. Any input would be greatly appreciated. http://www.ststurbo.com/

I've heard positive things about this remote-mounted Turbo system.

If, and only IF i was loaded, I would consider this system for my Tacoma. The sound of the spooling turbo is great.

Now, if I were to consider this system for my SC, it'd be a different story. To go turbo, I'd rather do a GTE/6-Speed swap for a few more thousand and call it a day. Just my 2 cents

I've driven a Camaro, GTO, and Vette all that had those installed in them (the Vette had the twin kit on it actually). When installed correctly, they work very very well. Designed for cars with really cramped engine bays and the SC4 definitely fits that category.

The oiling system is a bit tricky to figure out and on a universal application you will have to work some magic with the wiring. Finding a wire/set of wires that can handle the load the pump needs without interruption will be the tricky part I'm sure. That and finding a place to tuck it up nicely unobstructed.

Give it a shot though. Be original!

I can not even BEGIN to imagine what a pain in the rump it would be to track down a boost leak with one of those systems. Plus, they are horribly inefficient and prone to damage. The last thing I would want is an oil line stretching the length of the vehicle which could be caught by road debris, etc. Just my 2¢.

these are pretty big in the NSX community as well since, as mentioned before, they work well in applications where the car has a very cramped engine bay.

They've received decent reviews, I'm still on the fence with them.

The bottom line is these setups work. Argue all you want, a local drag radial guy runs twin 88's out back in his vett, another guy has an STS setup on a friggin Ford full size van and it runs great...

Match the turbo & a/r to your motor and I bet you'd be a real happy owner

They work well on most vehicles, but not so well on 4 cyl hondas, etc...

The NSX's motor placement means that putting it in the back isn't all that remote, its standard.

^^

anything other than pretty directly off the motor is remote. On the NSX it's back by the rear wheels, still pretty remote on a mid engine vehicle.

This 810hp M5 is using a remote mounted system. Looks sexy imo.

Probably somewhere on the S-pipe or something.

But for $350k i'd at the very least expect a proper turbo setup with manifolds not some STS rear mounted style.
