I got my center cat removed today, as well as both mufflers + pipe welded to the back with the stock tips on them. It sounds NAUGHTY. By naughty I mean nasty, scary, mean, powerful, sexy, etc. The drone is not bad at all when crusing, only when accelerating is it loud-ish. It sounds great under WOT and idling. There was definitively a slight performance increase too, I can feel it pushing through high RPMs much easier than before. Not a bad mod for $68. I'll post a video as soon as I can.

after reading this thread I just removed both mufflers. Never in a million years would I have thought that removing the mufflers would give you a deep clean sound. Sounds like a 350z at startup and revving to about 3k, but doesnt sound much deeper than stock over 3k.
Im not happy with the empty bumper cutouts though, so they'll most likely go back on tomorrow until I get a real exhaust setup.

I cut my mufflers off, ran some pipe, and bought some nice tips from AutoZone. They look stock, but are larger and look nicer. The chrome is obviously new...lol.
It sounds like Tanabe Touring Medallion axle back I bought in November. I didn't notice a performance gain between the two, so I sold the Tanabe on Ebay and ran the pipes with the stuff I had laying around from previous repairs I have made to other cars. I got the tips for five bucks because of all the parts I have bought from AZ (You get points with a rewards card thing).
I track my fuel econ like a hawk and with the mufflers cut off I seriously gained one MPG. Not some drastic difference, but hey, for basically free and an hour of my time it was worth it.
