Did you do your downpipe yet?

My motor is almost ready to go in. Waiting on my new clutch and flywheel as mine were pretty hashed up. Clutch disc had plenty of life left but I dont trust the whole combo.

Last question of the night, What radiator hose/pipe are you using?

I'm going to start removing the twins tomorrow, and hopefully have it all back in by Saturday, and drive around open DP like that until monday when I can get the custom piece made.

The hard pipe is just one off of ebay. It was only 40 bucks. I just looked though and couldn't find it anywhere. Try PM'ing Biggu. He has the same pipe, and maybe he remembers the sellers name.

What clutch are you going with btw?

Cool deal, I will look for them and give biggu a PM. Damn toyota here won't order a single part without a VIN after they saw me roll up in the lex a while back.

Spec stage 2+ I wanted to stay full face with it. Big ambitions down the road as long as my 2J block checks out good.

I extended my body plugs 18 inches so I hope thats enough, because I really dont like wires anymore.

Very nice! 18 inches should be plenty. I think I did mine like 22 inches and they were a bit long.

I'll post pics of the turbo removal and whatnot tomorrow.

Might think about adding a small flex section to that custom downpipe.

Something like these..many places sell them online though.

Good idea. I'll let my exhaust guy know to order one.

I'll let you know how I feel about this y pipe so if it preforms well, maybe you can throw one in too while the turbo's are out.

Which starter did you use? The auto 1JZ or your 2JZ w-58?

I used the 1jz one.

And taking off the turbos is a pain in the ***! I need to go get a special wrench so I can reach one single bolt.

Thats the one I will use then.

That sucks about the special wrench, when you do get it post it up brother.

Here is something I found through the aussie forums.

So I finally got the new piece on. I'll have all the pics tomorrow or the next day. Whenever I get it all back together. I ended up using a short stubby little box wrench to get the back bolt that connects the stock Y pipe to the rear turbo as it's in a tight spot, and then took the studs out of the front turbo, and managed to slide it out. Then I had to dremel about 1/4" off the engine mount bracket for the new Y pipe to clear. It's bolted onto the rear now, and now it's just a matter of putting it back together.

I used this writeup to help with removing the turbos. The 2jz is pretty similar to the 1jz, so it worked pretty well.

From your link, I wished I had seen this:

This might seem obvious but it isn't, as I found out to my frustration. Its almost impossible to get the bolts in to the back charger if this is not rebuilt in this order. I had to loose an hours work taking it to bits again. Do as I say not as I do!
Looks like I'll have to take off the back piece to put those two bastard bolts back on!
