Default Degreased engine and it stopped running

I bought the Gunk engine cleaner and started spraying it on my engine bay with most of the electrical components covered up, but somehow water slipped through. Immediately after spaying it off with the hose, i started it up and it ran fine. Later that day it started sputtering and missing on and off. Then my check engine light lit up and i kept driving it because i thought if the engine got too hot then the water might evaporate. I went on the HW today and wanted to get the engine real hot but it started to miss real bad and i pulled over after some time but when i did i noticed there was blue smoke coming from under engine. I had it towed back to Toyota to get it inspectioned. I will have them diagnose the problem and CEL's code. Could it be the spark plugs, wires, distributer. Blue smoke means oil burning, is that true and how did that happen. Any help is appreciated.

Usually blue-ish smoke means water(steam) more than "smoke" which comes out black. When I cleaned my first SC's motor mine sputtered a little because water got into the S.P's but it was fine after about 30-60 mins.

Thanks for the fast reply. I hope its nothing serious, because my DaveH turbo kit is on its way and i will be dropping my car off at the shop next week. With my NA-T install i will be getting cold temp plugs so i hope i don't have to get regular plugs now and then have to get cold temp later.

More then likely theres water in the spark plug galleys... change the plugs and clean off the plug wires and your good to go. I did that to my ride a while back. Next time you wash the engine, keep it running during the whole process (Degrease, & Rinse).

Car is back to normal running condition after changing out the spark plugs and a spark plug wire.

Yep, it happens often. BTW, blue smoke = oil, water burning off is steam.

i drove my sc400 thru an overflowing creek... water everywhere! needless to say, it doesn't run anymore. I pulled the airfilter out of the box and it was just dripping. i pulled the spark plugs and cranked the engine and you shoulda seen the spray of water! looked like old faithful! water in engine! anyway, i'm changing the oil this morning and putting everything back together. we'll see what happens... oh, btw, engine is still dirty!
