Need Help With Gauges
Like the title says. I got the 2jz-gte swap done in mid october and since then ive only had the gas gauge working along with the A/F and Boost. No speedo, tach, or even the water temp. without having to buy a bunch of gauges from autometer, defi, greedy etc.. what did you guys do to keep your cluster working after the swap? Im useing a Wolf v500 standalone ecu. ive drivin it like this since october i can drive like this no problem by listening to the motor but it would be nice to have my nice custom cluster that is blue and white working. please help.
ps. it does light up atleast.
Thanks to all at CL!

tell me what your cluster does when your car is running. do you have lights in your cluster? does your temp gauge go to hot after you start the car? but if your cluster is completely dead double check the fuses.

everything lights up. the gas gauge works. but he tach speedo and fuel dosent. if i get the msd tah adapter that should 99.9% work on fixing it. but what model adapter should i get. and the temp dosent work no matter how hot it gets. im going to try on of the methods to fix it that was posted on here to by pass it but im in doubt. and the speedo dosent work either.
The ecu im using is a wolf v500 complete standalone.
Thanks so far on the advice from all of you.

hmm... well you need to find out whats getting power. i will look around so forums but for now you need a wire diagram so you can take a multimeter to your cluster clips. what you will be checking for is a closed circuit. the way you find that is with 2 different wires. wire 1: would be a ground, and usually there will be one ground per clip because wires holding the same amount of watts/volts/or ohm, they can shear a ground. the 2nd wire would be the power wire. but like i said if the power wires share a ground then you just keep one lead on the ground and then move the other lead(multimeter) to each power wire in the clip. i didnt have this problem tho, my cluster was lite up and the only gauge that was dead was my tach. my temp guage read hot. but it wont be hard to fix, i guarantee that you are probably missing ONE maybe two grounds. which would take 5 mins to find with a wire diagram showing what each wire does in the 3 cluster clips.i know that the wire controlling the temp gauge is yellow with a green strip in the middle clip behind the cluster. and its ground will be in the same clip. most likely one of the bigger AWG wires. i would just cut the yellow wire behind the cluster and attach one lead from your multimeter and then just go threw every pin on the front of the clip checking for a closed circuit.
