Question about gauging idle RPMs
On my 1992 SC300 5MT how do I interpret the lines below the 1000 RPM level?
The first line below the 1000 RPM mark is spaced 2x the other lines on the gauge. Is this line to be read as 800 RPM or 600RPM?

i am pretty sure a good range is 750-900 RPMs when the engine is at running temperature. my question pertains to how to assess where the 800 RPM level is....
a mechanic instructed me the first line below the 1000 RPM line (about 2x extra spacing between the 1000 and next mark) is actually the 600 RPM mark....not the 800 RPM level.
can anyone clarify???

alright well i adjusted it so it's around 900 rpm in "D" now my car sounds like it's ready to jump off the line.
o yeah and ur question about the RPM lines. the first mark below 1 is 800 RPM i think. then the 2nd one is like 500RPM. the last one seems to be like 250 RPM.
Peace out
