Just like the title says: No A/C after AEM EMS install. Any idea why this happened? I know at the shop they couldn't get my car to stop stalling after coming out of boost with the idle control valve (ICV) connected so it was retuned without the ICV plugged in. No more stalling, but no more A/C either. I think it has to do with that but I'm not sure. Anyone know for sure? If so, what are my options to fix it?

 

dont quote me on this because i havent use an EMS in years. but i believe there is an option to turn off or on the a/c also an sub option to have it cut on or off at certain rpms or WOT. you need to ask your tuner this to verify.

 

which aem are u using? should be 1101 box but u can make the 1100 work as well. anyway, the a/c fix requires u to solder a resistor bridged between pins 33b and 34b (off the top of my head so search).

 

Thanks everyone. I will check with the shop about the A/C options on the EMS and pass on the info about soldering a resistor bridge after doing a little more searching. And I have the 1101. Thanks for the help!

Yes i came across that thread not too long ago, it's one here somewhere......

 

I beleive it is a setting in the EMS that turns the AC off honestly. I never used my AC so i just removed it and never delt with it again.

 

its on here somewhere but here are the settings you need to change, no resistors necessary anymore.

 

So just to clarify, what are the differences between the 1101 and the 1100?? Other than what seems to be just different Cal file settings which will need to be tweaked anyways.

Is there any negatives to running the 1100 box? Any luxuries lost like tach signal?? etc etc.

I understand that a map sensor / iat sensor will need to wired in but that's for both.

 

1100 is gte, 1101 is ge

 

Nothing is different. If its the gte box just load the ge cal file on n its the same thing

This was what I was asking. I understand that the 1101 is for the Na, 1100 is for the TT. The sole reason I held off buying a 1100 box is because I thought I'd have some issues with it being plug and play for the sc300 (no sense in losing A/C and diff luxuries when I can find a 1101 box).

Problem is, 1100 V1 box's can be found farely easily, 1101's are alil harder to come by.

I may just pick up a V2 unit and call it a day lol . This video made me feel better with going to EMS.

The 1101 is not PNP to the SC because you still have to wire the Ait and Map sensor, so same goes to the 1100.
Use can use either one just load the ge Cal file if your na-t and gte Cal file if your gte.

 

I think most people can deal with wiring in 2 sensors considering it completely gets rid of stalling related blow off issues and restrictive intakes from the maf. Plus the purchase of a 30 dollar MAC valve and you have a fully adjustable electronic boost controller.
