throw in a bottle of chevron techron and run it out - not saying it will clean up all your emission issues - because it wont. but it helps. my sc400 was over NO just by 50 or so PPM and the techron cleaned it to passing levels. now i use it every 3000K miles on all my cars

My apologies for the delay in response..

The car PASSED!

I replaced the old cats with Magnaflow High Performance universal cats. Asked Midas (just to see how much it would cost, seeing as how they are experts with mufflers ha!..) how much to cut out the old ones and weld in the new ones. They said they couldn't do it, I would have to go to a custom shop or buy direct fit. They said if I supplied the direct fit cats it would cost around 300 to switch them. So much for specialists lol. Took it to a private custom exhaust shop. They charged $300 to cut out the old, weld in the new. The cats were about $80 a piece from Parts Source. When I asked for my old cats back (which I believe have a high value for scrap..) he said they were already picked up by the scrap guy.. bull.

The car passed with flying colors, I can't find the emissions sheet but when I do I'll post the stats. The numbers dropped so much you would think it was a new car.

So for under $3000.00 CND I got a '93 SC400 that came with the '97-00 body. The car didn't need anything to cert. although I will have to tighten up the ebrake or replace the inner pads The car had 308,000k on it when purchased and I've since brought it up to 314,000k with no problems to date. It runs like a clock. Very soon I will need to replace the driver's door hinge though but cash is tight so I hope it holds out a little longer or we all know what will happen.

Thank You all for the advise.

Cheers!
