Default Power steering bypass....

Power steering bypass....
Trying to bypass my power steering. I believe the bearings in it may be bad. (excessive ENG noise) It's either the ac clutch or the PS.

Just wondering if I can buy a smaller belt and bypass the PS pump? Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks

On fbodies you can just run a shorter belt and bypass the pump altogether, I'm not sure how well it'd work on a 2JZ with the tensioner placement but by all means look into it.

If you really decided to bypass it for good, a trick to ease the steering up a tiny bit over just not running the pump is to run the lines from the rack back into each other so the fluid just runs through the rack instead of up through a non moving pump and back down.
