Default 1jz-gte on a 99 2jz-ge tranny?

i heard that 1jz and 2jz's can use to same tranny is this true? im trying to find a cheap way to turbo my car so if it does work i wouldnt have to spend extra money on a tranny. also would i have to change out my ecu from the one i have to a 1jz ecu?

for some this might be stupid question but im new in the motor area of tunning, sorry guys

Well you can use the w58 on the 1jz, BUT you will be limited on the hp/tq before it gives out on you. I have read that at max you will be around 400 hp before it gives out. **depending on how you drive**

If your talking about using the stock auto in your 99 SC300, then you should consider upgrading your transmission. The stock auto will be your weakest link. It wont last long at anything over 300whp.
