Would anyone know if the cats are the same for the 2jz-ge and the 1jz? I have the 1jz engine and the 1jz exhaust. I'd prefer not to drive open header down to the mufller shop to get a custom cat made. Could it be possible that the 2jz-gte is the same as the 1jz-gte?

oh comon u can do it, i drove with an open downpipe for over a month and even got pulled over for speeding and the cop didn't even notice i didn't have an exhaust.
I am not sure about the 1j but I know my 2jz-ge was pretty quiet with out an exhaust. I heard it when I took it to get my exhaust done. I was shocked and glad it didn't make a lot of noise.
