I have O/D again
and all it cost me was a new tranny, ecu and a billion hours
hehe atleast my new tranny and engine only has 79,xxx miles
anyways it was the O D cancel signal circuit which the cruise control ecu sends to the main ecu while you are using cruise to speed up
in my case the main ecu was getting that signal from god knows where and would not allow it to shift into O/D (ecu short circuit)
went on EBay and got myself a used ecu for 90.00
threw it in my car and no more problems

My wife's car now has O/D again! It has taken a while but after checking the sensors on the trans, coolant temp sensor, and then doing a mechanical check to confirm that the O/D actually would work I came to the conclusion that the ECU was possibly my issue as well. It took a while but with the help of aliga (member here for those that do not know him) I was able to locate another an ECU. I used a 94 ECU in my 95 and it worked. I now have O/D again and all is well with the transmission.
