emissions time!!!
Well here is the lowdown, 93 sc300 185xxx miles5 speed etc, to it to a local smog station in town, the final results were GROSS POLLUTER in bold . the shop gave me a rundown of possible causes and possible fixes.
1.repair over heating this can cause high nox
A. fan clutch
B. head gasket
2. set timing to specs
3. r/r egr valve and transducer check for clogged intake and exhaust
4 tighten down intake manifold, and repair any vacuum leaks
so here is what i did: bought fan and clutch egr and transducer. since i was there i changed spark plugs and oil.also repaired valve cover gasket because there was a pool of oil in the spark plug galley. but once i put everything back together the car wont stay running barley idles and dies i took the spark plugs out only to found that the third to fifth spark plugs are submerged in coolant. what is going on please help all i want to do is smog my car and drive it again.

id say bhg if your spark plugs are touching coolant, just as 5spdsc300 said.
open up the engine and inspect the head/gasket might as well check your intake/exhaust manifolds/gaskets too. goodluck!

sorry valve cover gasket. whenever i start the car after it has been sitting for a while i see a little white smoke sometimes from the o2 sensor this time just a random puff i don't think its too serious. also i took the maf off its clean inside and the honey comb lining is solid.

Try to see if there is any codes in your computer. Then try to see if you can get it tuned like SAFC or something, lean it out is what I heard. But not too much.
I am glad I live in Maryland, if you fail the first time, you have to spend at least $450.00 on repair. Fail 2nd time, show them the reciept for the attempted repair and you get a waiver. Basically, it said you made a effort and oh well. My 1jz passed with flying colors, it actually showed cleaner than the 92 SC300 they had the machine set up for. LOL. The car is from california and passed smog test there too.

if the problem lies in with a blown head gasket and your on a budget you can buy a used motor for cheap just swap it out lots cheaper than rebuilding the motor.... you can then save money up while its runnign on the used motor to rebuild the other motor for the na t swap and minimize your downtime on the car ex. upgrading the head gasket to the thicker one and sending out the head to get redone and ordering cams putting the motor together shimming it hooking up the turbo manifold and the turbo running the water line/ oil lines etc..
