Advice for gated shifter
Okay...I found a gated shifter at a reasonable price that includes everything but the shift **** (no big deal).
The only issue is that the wiring harness was cut.
It is off of a 1999 SC300.
Will a 1999 SC400 harness work with the 300 shifter assembly?
If so I can get one

I got my own question about this type of swap. I found one on eBay with everything complete, ****, shifter, bezel, trac and heated seats buttons; however, its from an SC300. Will it work with my SC400?

Have you not read Jeslet's thread? I thought it covered everything?

so you just need to see if the wiring harnesses/plugs are different? A few guys that posted in the thread that they should be the same. Maybe ask a few 98+ Sc owner post pics of their harnesses?

Lexus said that they are different part numbers but might be the same harness even though its a different number.
I did read the thread thoroughly. All that I saw was that "I think" the harness is the same.

Okay a few more questions. thanks Mole for the shifter advice
Now, I found an SC400 wood shifter trim from a 99 SC400. Is the shifter trim the same on the 400 as it is the 300?
And obviously, I really need help with the wiring. Should I post a pic of what I have as far as my wiring is concerned?

Yes the gated shifter wood trim surround is the same for the sc300 and
sc400. Only possible difference, as you have mentioned, is the cutouts for the heated seat buttons as those were optional.
As for the wiring, are any of the wires still there? If they are, you can just wire each individually.
Here are some threads that may be helpful. I saved for reference when I thought about doing the conversion:

Yep there are wires there. Still two plugs but then there's a cut section where there should be other stuff.
Here are pics of what I have so far.

Full end of the harness. The end that plugs into the assembly is unmolested, its just this end that's cut.
