Yeah vacuum leaks will definitely cause some issues ,but did that fix it? On OBD 1 there can be stored codes that can turn off ,but still stored in the computer. Usually if they are not on the computer isn't in LIMP IN MODE. That sucks that you are up there I could have helped you out if you lived closer. Check for any more of those vacuum leaks cause that could be screwing you up. Wish you had a vid so I could listen to it ahhhhhh!
I'd love to take you up on the offer, but its a decent drive down there.

Thats actually one of my next guesses. I've disconnected the MAF and the car runs worse w/o it. I understood that it should run like normal w/o the MAF but with a crappy idle. Im just going to check the resistance on in tomorrow and see what i come up with.

Lexus Test Driver
Heh I have another maf you can test it with lol. I also have 2 extra coils and extra 1 uz connectors and fuel injectors. Extra parts that i got for free ,but my 1uzsupra doesn't run yet lol. Well if you want to drive down on a weekend or whatever me and my buddy REDPHOENIX would help you out. I like keeping the SC's on the road. Brothers car is almost ready to drive waiting on parts from a CL member.

well, i tested the MAF/IAT and the resistance is a little odd. at 68F it should be 2-3k ohms, im getting 1.5-1.8. at 176F its supposed to read 0.4-0.7k ohms. when I heated the MAF with a hairdryer it read 0.6-0.7k.
Does it really matter if im at 1.5k ohms instead of 2-3k ohms?
i also tested the TPS from the test connector and its supposed to go from 0-8.0 volts when the gas is pressed. im getting 1.07 volts instead of 0, is this close enough?

well, it gets better.... Seeing that my MAF was reading slightly lower resistance 1.5-1.8k instead of 2-3k ohms, I decided to try and clean it.
The studder from 1k-2k RPMs is gone! Although now i've got a check engine light. I havent pulled the codes, but the last time I cleaned the MAF it took 2days to clear the code. Might just have to buy another MAF, since it seems to be the culprit.
