Do you guys have details as far as what model shifter you're trying to put into which model car? I'm hoping I don't have the same issue putting a 300 shifter into a 300 car....
i've got a 98 sc300 shifter and 92 sc300, the trend so far seems to be 1992 cars. seriously can a lexus brother get some pics or at least a little more detailed info ?
Okay guys, what I ended up doing was just cut the rod and welded it shorter. The bracket doesn't work too well imo, welding the rod is the best way to go. But if you can't get it welded, then the bracket will work. The bracket concept is so basic, just find a way to connect the end of the shifter to the shift linkage rod. I would suggest getting one of those flat metal pieces with all the holes in it. You can find them at Home Depot. I already had a metal piece that came with my shifter, any piece of metal with a hole for the shifter and a hole for the rod will work. You just need the two holes to be of the right length.
I also did the gated shifter mod this past weekend...Just get your stock shift linkage cut about an inch and weld it back together. It works perfect and looks like stock.
k that sounds like thats what I'm gonna do, planned on doing that in the first place in light of Jeslets thread. Also Is it pretty easy to get the linkage off ? or am i gonna need a lift ?
