Default soarer clip or engine/trans combo?

I am looking into buying a 1jz w/ r154 trans and put it in a 92 sc300 auto. I have found a clip but there are a couple of factors making me wonder if it is worth it.

soarer clip $2500
1jz/r154 $2100

things I know or think I know.
1. if i get the clip i know i am getting a soarer and it is impossible to have any confusion.
2. I can't use the pedals or clutch cylinders on the clip.
3. I can sell some of the extra parts, control arms, brakes...
4. I can use the throttle cable off the swap.
5. another plus. I can actually see the clip before i buy it and watch them do a leak down/ compression test.

just wanted to get other peoples opinion on what I should do. or maybe if someone knows of a better deal out there hook a brother up!

thanks

Yeah a clip is a way smarter way to go, you'll have EVERYTHING you need plus extra goodies like spare lights, steering wheel, etc. You might be able to sell the RHD swap too if someone wants it, it's easy to make the extra 400 bucks back. Besides, when you order a motor/tranny, sometimes they don't send everything. Since I got mine, I've had to order a new TPS, MAP, power steering reservoir, and other small things because the place I bought the engine from cut them off even though it was an "uncut harness"

is that an auto clip or R154 clip? If its R154 then the price is Good!..

I've done many swaps, but never on the lexus.. this should be very similar to the supra swaps ive done and their easy.

the clip has EVERYthing you need. and more.

Ya, that price is damn good. I paid 2500 for an auto engine set. Where are you getting yours from?

bump

Did you, or anyone else, ever order the clip from gspeed? I've been thinking about buying a front clip and I came across their site the other day, but I don't know anyone that has bought from them.

Never heard of Gspeed, but I just finished up doing a 1jz r154 swap and $2500 for the whole clip is a great price! You will get alot of extra parts in the clip that will save you money and time in ordering from places like driftmotion. The clip also gives you a base map of how to install and where everything goes and belongs. You will probably get things like the fan shroud that has the extra fan that cools down the turbos and then you can sell all the extra parts that you dont need and probably make at least $500- 700 bucks back which will decrease your initial outlay of cash from $2500 to something like $2000 which is cheaper than just getting the engine and tranny. Let us know what u decide to do and good luck bro

+1 for the clip since it has r154, and sell extra parts to get your money back!
