Default cranks over but no start no noise from fuel pump... replaced still nothing...

alright, wow i have no idea how this came to be. My car would start and run then after starting 3 times and running it would only crank over and not run. I thought it might have been the fuel pump since i stopped hearing it, I did the 12V mod, So i replaced it with a walbro 255lph HP. Any ideas?

Man, I wish I knew how to help you here. I hope it's an easy fix. I'll be putting in my GTE 6speed swap in Jan. or Feb. and hope everything goes smoothly. Did you get your wiring done by Phoenixtuning.com?

yeah i checked fuses and i found out a little more about it. What it is is that there is a relay and then fuel pump ecu. I hot wired my fuel pump directly to battery and bam starts right up, now im wondering could my fuel pump ecu be shot since the aristo ecu sends 2.5-5v signals and not 9v-12v like it takes, or could it be my relay... that is a mystery for tomorrow!

alright, kinda figured it out i believe my fuel pump ecu is shot i swapped the relays that are both the same in the fuse box and it still did not turn the pump on.

CThompsen -

I have been following as I am about to get mine going and getting all the parts before hand so not much down time. So did it work when you did the ECU bypass? Finding the 98 NA Supra ECU is not easy as I am sure you are aware and do not want that to hinder me from moving forward.

From my understanding there is no downside to it other than the pump is running at full power all the time and would reduce the life of the pump correct? I am doing the Wal pump as well but I will be going AEM later so if I can skip the ECU for a bit I might.

The best thing i guess someone can do as of from what i am being told (i found a NA Fuel Pump ECU and i hope it's a 98 but I am gonna try that) is to hook up the fuel pump right to a toggle switch. Yet that is very unsafe since there are sensors in your gas tank that can seance it overheating and stops the pump before it could spark and boom. But i will keep you updated on the fuel pump ecu status.

CT -

From my reading it looks like if you just do the 12v mod you will be okay and it should start and get fuel to the engine. The JDM ECU will not run the fuel ECU so your pump will not turn on. I would not think that you would blow the ECU it just would not communicate with the proper inputs and output (this is assumption have not done the equations)

I would try the mod as you can chang eit later but ~$200 for the ECU is crazy IMO. If you want to do the toggle switch then I would input that. I did not see much concern about the pump overheating for operating on all the whole time.

alright, thanks alot for the info, this is still bugging me since that my car did start and run for 3 times. I wonder if anyone has a diagram that follows the fuel pump wires and where they go. From what i know it goes (Battery -> Relay -> Fuel Pump ECU -> Fuel Pump)...

Quick Reply: cranks over but no start no noise from fuel pump... replaced still nothing...
