there are several iterations of the alternator for the 2jge:

92-94 sc300 2jzge

95-97(i believe)

98-2000

the supra 2jzgte alternator came in two variations. there is one that has an oval plug on the back and one with a round plug.

the gs300 2jzge has yet another version as well.

F-in toyota!!!

to be honest in not even sure if the mk4 supra 2jzge has the same plug as the sc300 2jzge.

what year is your car?

They are the same thing. The higher amperage is a plus. All you have to do is swap the tops. You know where the back part of the alternator is? The part where you would connect the plastic connector? Well you have to unscrew that whole cover on both the alternators and swap them over including the connectors underneath those covers. Im using a TT alternator on my 93SC300.
