dakota digital tach adapter? anyone else have one?
well i bought a Dakota digital tach adapter to get my tach working after my 1J swap. now sometimes my tach stops working, or when im on the highway it jumps around and is at the wrong rpm. when im in the gas hard sometimes the tach will stop at like 5000rpms. amongst all this, when i put my blinker on, the tach jumps to the beat of the blinker.....weird huh? this stuff only happens sometimes.
i was wondering if anyone else bought one of these instead of the msd, and whether the same problems are occuring? i checked the unit several times and its hooked up correctly, so i have no clue whats going on. if anyone has some input on this i would appreciate it.

i checked out the thread, but i have a 95 and if im not mistaken the clusters are different between the 92-94 years and the 96-96 years. when i took my cluster out originally to do the tach fix, it look different then any of the clusters i saw in the thread. the other reason i chose the tach adapter method was for ease of getting my tach to work properly.

Its a different resistor on the 95 clusters, you might be able to find it in my 1jz swap thread... i think i talked about it. If not wait till tomorrow night and I'll go grab the old cluster and tell you exactly

Just put a wire bypassing resistor number R73 on the back of the cluster.
Just like this, but its just numbered differently on the 95. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khcUX5dGl0s
